SOPA Summit, New Friends, and a Little Accountability 😅🎨
I recently had the most incredible experience gathering with artists from around the world at the SOPA (Society of Professional Artists) Summit through the Milan Art Institute in Sarasota. Being surrounded by so many passionate, gifted, and encouraging creatives was both energizing and deeply inspiring.
One of the highlights for me was meeting this new accountability group — the brave souls I committed to painting 20 hours a week alongside! 🎨🔥
Now… I just need to actually show up in the text group consistently 😅🙈

But honestly, that’s part of the beauty of community. We need people who lovingly encourage us forward, challenge us to grow, and remind us of who God is. Creativity can sometimes feel isolating, so it’s a gift to walk alongside others who understand both the joy and the vulnerability that comes with making art.
Hebrews 10:24–25 came to mind throughout the week:
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds… encouraging one another.” ✨

Another fun part of the trip: this is also where Season 4 of The Outstanding Artist was filmed! Eight exceptionally talented professional artists were selected to compete in an exciting creative battle — pushing their imagination, skill, and vision to the limit. 🎨🔥
And yes… the winner receives $25,000 🤯
Many of my dear artist friends are contestants this season, which makes it even more exciting to watch and cheer them on. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s available on YouTube and definitely worth checking out.
I came home grateful — not just for the art, but for the people. Encouraged. Challenged. Inspired. And maybe just a little more ready to step into the work ahead.
